Kusalata, a skill development program for women

Kusalata, meaning skillfulness in the locally spoken language is a program based in Ambli village for women. Through the group discussions with women, I learnt that only one-third of the women work outside of the village. Most women who did not pursue any of the occupations associated themselves with their family members for their own identity. In order to establish stronger associations with the village, I believe they need to center it around themselves. My idea is to provide them potential of stronger identity of their own through achieving financial independence in areas of their interest. There were certain major problems that most women faced like managing time, lack of interaction amongst women of all communities and transportation. The program aims at giving women exposure and increase interaction with other user groups which will inspire more women to learn skills that make them more economically equipped.
