A city can be termed as layers of functional, psychological and agglomerative patterns which overlap to and function. Ahmedabad is a city located in the state of Gujarat, India declared as a heritage city. The Sabarmati River cuts Ahmedabad into east and west, as well as old and new respectively. Urbanization refers to the population shift from rural areas to urban areas and the ways each society adapts to this change. As per the history, there are 12 darwajas of Ahmedabad and the city was placed within those darwajas but as the city starts expanding these peripheries started shifting outwards. These expansions are leading to arbitrary transitions in respective areas. Soni Ni Chal is in such an area, which is on the eastern part of Ahmedabad near to Malek Saban Lake. The publication is related to the effect of these transitions and their impacts on other planning aspects .
