Gurgaon formerly known as Gurugram, with an area of 732 sq.kms. is emerging as an IT hub and has facilitated several IT and other industries in the last two decades, which boosted up the pace of development in the city. Gurgaon has a continuing history from times of Mahabharata as the village of very famous Shri Guru Dronacharya and that’s the reason why it is known as Gurugram. The city has one of the highest real estate prices in India, and the rapid development of the IT sector has attracted the younger age groups towards it, because of more facilities, job opportunities and a good lifestyle. Still, there is a part of Gurgaon that is unknown to many, which is the old Gurgaon. The major focus of the research is on land use, infrastructure and settlement of this area. There is one such area which shows a glimpse of the old part of the city, named Ashok Vihar-II.
