Transportation Node a Catalyst for Development

The trade on Bombay Island by East India Company led to development of residential and commercial areas, which later influenced construction of proper port by Bombay Port Trust. Development of ports increased trade and pace of development of inlands. Similar process of development was also seen for construction of first railway station of western railway line at Grant Road. This process of development influenced by trade and the setup of a transportation node acting as a catalyst to develop the area further and how development that happened in past, is adapting at present is analysed in the portfolio.
