Urban Mosaic: Integrating Culture, Ecology and Economy

This master plan for the Sabarmati Ashram precinct aims to transform an underutilized urban void into a vibrant, ecologically balanced, and economically thriving district. Grounded in heritage preservation, sustainability, and inclusive growth, it integrates cultural legacy with modern development. Key features include an interconnected open space network, culminating in the Chandrabhaga Stream Green Corridor, enhancing ecological resilience and public recreation. A cultural-economic hub near the Ashram promotes tourism and local entrepreneurship. Mixed-use high-rise, mid-rise, and low-rise zones support transit-oriented development (TOD). Phased implementation ensures sustainable growth, emphasizing core infrastructure, stream rejuvenation, and community rehabilitation for a harmonious urban future.
