Making invisible visible

The studio serves as an introduction to urban design representation, using it as a tool for design thinking. The underlying premise is that urban design is most effectively understood and articulated through the exploration and depiction of the built urban environment. Therefore, the studio emphasizes studying, representing, and designing key urban elements in cities across various modules during the semester, each ending with an exhibition of the results. These modules primarily focus on capturing and communicating the spatial qualities of the urban environment and designing public places. Each module consists of two parts: the first part is centered on observing and illustrating the essential elements of urban design that contribute to creating functional urban spaces, while the second part concentrates on designing public places.
