Transforming Dwarka through Transit Oriented Policy

The UERP Studio spanned four months, focusing on preparing detailed schemes for various sites across India, with a special emphasis on TOD in Dwarka, Delhi. The project transformed Dwarka from a “ghost town” to a vibrant urban hub by enhancing urban form, introducing mixed-use development, and proposing road network-based zoning. It advocated liberal regulations inspired by Ahmedabad’s model, allowing flexible building heights and setbacks to boost buildability. Key recommendations included statutory backing for TOD policy, integrating affordable housing, and employing EP-RP mapping with TDR mechanisms to ensure equity and market feasibility, fostering collaborative and adaptable urban planning.
