This academic studio, structured in two modules, explores how spatial design shapes inclusive and resilient public environments. The first module focuses on typological studies of streets and buildings, culminating in the redesign of a 550m stretch along Ahmedabad’s IOC Road as a pedestrian-friendly, transit-integrated corridor with green buffers, shared zones, and active frontages. The second module addresses congestion and land underutilization at Vasna Vegetable Market and Bus Terminus by proposing a multifunctional transit hub with plazas, market areas, and community spaces. Emphasising context-driven, human-scaled interventions, the studio demonstrates how urban design can unlock the social potential of everyday spaces.
