HSR Station Area Development

The Town Planning Scheme focuses on translating broader visions into implementable area-specific plans, particularly in Gujarat. This studio centered on the Bharuch High-Speed Rail (HSR) Station Area, integrating transportation, infrastructure, and housing for holistic development. The semester emphasized stakeholder consultations, engaging private developers, government officials, and residents to ensure inclusive planning. Challenges like the Dedicated Freight Corridor and expressway barriers were addressed through innovative, context-sensitive strategies. With the HSR connecting Bharuch to major business districts, the station was envisioned as a landmark and economic catalyst, prioritizing pedestrian movement while fostering sustainable urban growth.
