Balancing Economy and Environment of SURAT

The studio comprises of 16 weeks, with 2 weeks of individual exercises and 14 weeks of preparing development plan for the assigned city including site visits. Through the span of 16 weeks, 4 iterations are conducted which starts with existing situation analysis and extends up to proposals regarding zoning, road network, blue green infrastructure, physical infrastructure, costing and phasing, implementation along with boundary delineation and population estimation. As an individual, a case study on Mysore development plan was done. A stretch of 500m of Adajan - Hazira Road was studied to understand the demand and supply of floor space. Through discussions and debates, proposals pertaining to zoning, road networks were finalized. Individual sectoral proposals are also included in the plan focusing on Blue Green Network.
