Proposed Surat Development Plan 2046

The project reimagines urban planning for Indian cities, departing from conventional zoning towards a simplified, market-flexible framework. The main aim of the project is to liberalize Development Regulations, fostering innovation while ensuring essential restrictions for safety and eco-sensitivity. Envisioning Surat as a compact city, the approach balances eco-concerns with economic growth. By analyzing current conditions, forecasting the population, and engaging stakeholders, the proposal prioritizes existing situations and market orientation. Emphasizing a market-driven, liberalized approach, our plan impacts zoning, building regulations, connectivity and green space development, aiming for an equitable, compact, and connected city.
