Rajkot - Shaping a Livable City

Rajkot, the fourth largest city in Gujarat, is a fast-growing urban center facing challenges like housing shortages, traffic congestion, and environmental stress. As RUDA’s administrative core, it offers a dynamic context for urban planning. The Draft Development Plan 2047 envisions a sustainable, inclusive city through integrated zoning strategies like TOD, industrial expansion, and green-blue infrastructure. It proposes compact urban forms and mixed-use zoning to enhance accessibility. By integrating MSME revitalization, public transport, and other various aspects the plan sets a resilient roadmap for Rajkot’s transformation into a livable city by 2047.
