This project transforms a site near the Sant Sarovar Dam, along the Sabarmati River, into a vibrant, experiential park. Currently, the area is popular with visitors but lacks essential infrastructure like accessible pathways, cohesive spaces, and public facilities. While the site is often used for activities like sightseeing and relaxation, it is also plagued by construction waste dumping and sand mining. Despite these challenges, it boasts a rich diversity of flora and fauna, offering untapped potential for a more engaging experience. To create a more immersive environment, the design introduces a continuous pathway that connects distinct zones, each with its own unique, interactive space. The zones are based on topography and the experiences they offer, such as ecological, productive, wetland, cultural, and riparian areas. Series of small trails navigate the varying slopes to create a seamless flow of experiences. To activate the space the design adds elements such as viewing decks, community gathering areas, bird-watching towers, a designed edge along the riverbank, and shaded and open seating areas. These additions are intended to enhance both accessibility and the overall experience, transforming the site into a dynamic public space for visitors.
