The project revitalizes a culturally and ecologically important riverside site—currently mined, eroded, and underdeveloped—by transforming it into a woven landscape that restores the area through sensitive landscape based development. The design integrates diverse slopes and flat uplands into a network of seamless trails, each offering unique experiences to visitors. From the uplands to the midland slopes and down to the riverbed, visitors can explore a variety of textures and navigate through layers of vegetation.
The design process follows these key approaches:
Mapping New and Existing Trails: Creating new pathways and integrating them seamlessly with the existing trail network.
Shaping the Terrain: Carefully sculpting the landscape to accommodate planned activities while stabilizing it through strategic planting.
Seasonal Vegetation Layering: Introducing plants that respond to seasonal changes, enhancing the site's natural beauty throughout the year.
Ground Texture Finishing: Adding textured materials to pathways and surfaces to create a fully immersive natural experience.
