Seamless Tapestry- Connecting Landscapes and Community

The project transforms the underutilized Sabarmati river edge site, into a productive park seamlessly traversed with an elevated trail. The site, located between Gandhinagar's Indroda village and Sarita Udhyan, holds cultural and ecological importance but suffers from limited accessibility, mined terrain, land degradation, and illicit activities, isolating it from the surrounding community. The design integrates a key solution towards its inaccessible and steep inclines, elevated trail traversing throughout the entire site and across Sabarmati’s flood plain to connect Araanya Udyan. This trail offers seamless movement, pause areas, and exit points at different landmarks, offering views and access to cultural and hidden spaces. Ground areas are designed for seasonal productive gardens, and slopes are restored with soil-holding native species that help stabilize slopes and revive the land. The project celebrates the site's nature and culture, enhancing it with trails that connect people to myriad spaces for festivals and daily life. creating a productive and integrated system that offers many possibilities for engaging with the site.
