UNIVERSITY AREA- CITY'S BIGGEST JOGGERS' PARK

University area being one of the biggest green area in the city attracts people for morning and evening walks within its internal roads and campuses. The following strategy aims at making the whole of the university area accessible to the people coming here for walks and evening strolls. The intent is to connect all the existing spots of where the people are already walking and gathering and articulate with routes that are well maintained and green thereby creating a loop within the university area which will then widen the network of the existing walkers' movement in area. The HL campus lacked the presence of a central gathering space as well as a formal performance space as a result of which the students resorted to completely going out of the campus for hanging out or used the canteen and parking as the only gathering spaces on the campus. Also, the campus is already being used by the outsiders as a stop in their walking route or just for relaxing and gathering therefore it can be also used as a destination of rest and relaxation by these people. Also, due to the spill over from the vendors on the street the problem of congestion also was very prominent, therefore, narrowing down the carriage way width to 6m and pedestrianizing the rest of it along with pushing in the campus boundaries will separate the traffic and the other activities on the street. This space also becomes a pause point for the joggers and walkers
