The Studio focuses on the Indian cities rapid urban population growth in which drives demand for more built space and infrastructure. This strains existing resources and services, rendering many urban areas unsustainable and unlivable.
To address this, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has launched schemes like AMRUT, SMART CITIES MISSION, and HRIDAY to address these challenges. These initiatives focus on developing infrastructure in already developed areas through mechanisms like Local Area Plans and Town Planning schemes.
