Catalyst Corridor

The Catalyst Corridor project envisions the revitalization of a key urban spine within the dense and historically rich fabric of Surat’s old city. This  outlines a comprehensive framework for transforming the corridor into a vibrant, resilient, and inclusive public realm that responds to the area’s evolving urban pressures and cultural significance. The selected corridor lies at the intersection of various urban functions—mobility, commerce, heritage, and daily life—and is currently underutilized, congested, and fragmented in terms of infrastructure and public space. The project identifies this corridor as a potential catalyst—a trigger point for broader urban regeneration—by integrating mobility upgrades, public space improvement, heritage conservation, and socio-economic upliftment.
