This proposal envisions the transformation of the Athwa higher education precinct in Surat into a unified, integrated, and future-ready university-led urban district. Anchored by Sarvajanik University, Vanita Vishram Women’s University, and Dr. S. & S. S. Gandhy College of Engineering, the precinct is currently fragmented—defined by gated campuses, inactive edges, and underutilized public assets. The project reimagines these institutions as catalysts for broader urban regeneration. Guided by the principles of NEP 2020, the proposal promotes land resource optimization, increased density, improved walkability, and shared institutional infrastructure. The vision is to shift from isolated campuses to an open, collaborative ecosystem that integrates education, transit, public realm, and community life.
