Our urban transformation studio focused on Transit Oriented Development (TOD) in Indian cities. The site chosen was along the east west corridor of the metro line, in the prime locality of Kothrud, Pune. Maha Metro delineates a 500 m radius buffer around metro stations for TOD. We chose the area around three metro stations, namely Vanaz, Anand Nagar and Ideal Colony Metro stations as part of our study. The initial part of the studio was conducted as a group where we conducted the existing situation analysis of the area in context which culminated in a Local Area Plan. The latter part of the studio was individual study and design of pilot projects.
