This project focuses on the urban transformation of Ghuma village, located along the BRTS corridor in Ahmedabad. As rapid urbanization engulfs the village, the proposal aims to integrate Ghuma into the city’s fabric without compromising its identity. The strategy emphasizes revitalizing village edges, enhancing public interfaces, and unlocking underutilized land potential through inclusive street design, public realm improvements, and built form regulations. Key interventions include activating the BRTS edge as a mixed-use corridor, reimagining lakefront access, and introducing architectural guidelines that respect the village’s character while encouraging redevelopment. The goal is to shift Ghuma from isolation to meaningful integration.
