Public Spaces: Reimagining a Vending Zone

Analyzing and mapping different parts of the Gurudwara Junction, one of the major user groups on the site were the street vendors. These vendors face multiple challenges each day, which include risk of eviction, lack of shaded spaces and seating areas for customers and the spill over onto the road. The design aims to provide a dedicated spot for vending where there  is  shade, places to sit and where there is less conflict between vehicles stopping for these vendors. The design also aims to make the site pedestrian friendly with the help of a walkway  connected across the site.
