DESIGN OF BOW STRING GIRDER

This studio project focuses on the analysis and design of a bow string girder bridge, integrating theoretical concepts with practical application. Using Indian Standard Codes, the design process involved site studies, preparation of General Arrangement Drawings, and 3D modeling in STAAD Pro. Superstructure and substructure elements including deck slab, pier cap, pier, and foundation were designed with detailed load analysis and code based checks. Emphasis was placed on serviceability, structural efficiency, and economy. The project offered hands on experience in bridge design through code compliance, structural detailing, and software-based analysis.
