DESIGN OF RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE ON SLOPING GROUND

THE STUDIO PROBLEM IS TO DESIGN A RESIDENTIAL BUILDING ON SLOPING GROUND THAT HAS A SLOPE IN THE SHORTER DIMENSION OF THE BUILDING. WE LEARN THAT FOR DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS OF SLOPE OF GROUND, WHEN SLOPE IS IN SHORTER DIRECTION OF BUILDING, IT GIVES BETTER PERFORMANCE THAN SLOPE IN LONGER DIRECTION OR BOTH SIDE SLOPE. AS WELL AS FROM THIS PROJECT, WE UNDERSTAND ABOUT THE SHORT COLUMN EFFECT. DUE TO THE SHORT COLUMN EFFECT, WHICH TYPE OF DIFFICULTY OCCURS IN STRUCTURES LIKE SHIFTING OF CR FROM HIGHER FLOOR TO LOWER FLOOR, FOUNDATION DESIGN, AND DESIGN OF COLUMN BELOW GB/PB.
