Urban Sprawl Prediction - Coastal Cities - Chennai

Urban sprawl prediction models can help us effectively in quantifying future urban sprawl growth and also identify direction and pattern of urban sprawl growth. This approach can help in urban planning and good governance. Also it helps in resource management as identifying urban sprawl growth can also provide information about quantifying increased demand of the resources correctly.

Aim: Study and prediction of Urban Sprawl using geospatial modeling for the city of Chennai.
The work includes selection of study area based on MCDA,preparation of multi-temporal landuse maps and assessment of corresponding classes and prediction of urban sprawl in 2021 of Chennai using MOLUSCE & Land Change Modeler (LCM).
