The study of soil properties and how they affect foundation system design is covered in Geotechnical Parameters: Influencing Foundation Systems. The studio started by using mindmaps to understand various geotechnical concepts. Following that, we gained practical experience in soil investigation by conducting field investigations and laboratory experiments on campus. The field of soil improvement was investigated by comparing the results of tests performed on soil samples with and without the use of additives. Finally, the knowledge of soil properties and behaviour was applied to the design of foundation systems for a specific problem statement.
