In order to become familiar with integrated building practises, a residential tower project was started. In this studio, a variety of Lean and BIM principles were put into practise to produce more meaningful results than we would have using traditional techniques. The personnel had been allocated roles such as structural consultant, architect, contractor, MEPF consultant, or BIM coordinator. To really use BIM techniques, a BIM execution plan was created for this hostel project. Other significant use cases in BIM execution include quantity take-off, 4D and 5D simulations. These were carried out after the modelling phase. Implementing BIM and Lean concepts, an IPD approach throughout the process, led to better outcomes at the conclusion of the process.
