Lighting&Integrated Design Lab and Whole Building Design

Integrated Design Lab (IDL) and Whole Building Design (WBD) modules, focuses on optimizing building energy performance. Strategies to reduce energy consumption in daylighting, electric lighting, HVAC optimization, and energy were modelled and simulated using Design builder and Climate studio software. The modules emphasized creating energy code-compliant designs for an Outpatient Healthcare facility in Rajkot's composite climate, with considerations like cost efficiency, return on investment, EPI reduction, and solar PV integration. A 50-year life cycle assessment highlighted long-term sustainability. This experience deepened my understanding of energy-efficient design, blending theory, practice, and economic feasibility.
