Passive Comfort Lab

The main objective of the PC lab is to to understand Passive Design strategies and Heat transfer principles to reduce the energy consumption of the building during operational hours. Students are introduced with climate analysis, shading analysis & design, building physics & load calculations, passive design strategies and approaches to different thermal comfort models.
A box type solar cooker has been designed & fabricated to understand how a building reacts to climate and respond to heat gain and loss.
