The passive comfort lab aims at understanding the basic principles of heat transfer through the building envelope. To understand this concept, a volume of 1m³ was designed so that a correlation could be drawn on the parameters affecting the performance of the space. We learned about climate analysis, thermal comfort, and passive design strategies in buildings through various softwares like climate consultant, d-view and design builder for simulating various parameter affecting solar gains on the building envelope. We understood the purpose and the uses of instruments needed for physical measurements.
