The Passive Comfort Laboratory or PC-Lab is dedicated to optimizing building envelopes to enhance energy efficiency. In this laboratory, we delve into various building physics concepts such as climate analysis, shading, heat transfer, moisture transfer, load calculations, and psychrometry. Moreover, we acquire skills in measuring environmental variables and assessing human thermal comfort conditions. We conducted a course project where we created an icebox to study thermal performance and quantify it. In the simulation module, we furthered our understanding by modeling and simulating buildings at the envelope level, incorporating occupancy schedules and air-conditioning simulations.
