PASSIVE COMFORT LAB 2023

The Passive Comfort Lab imparts essential knowledge on building physics and heat transfer principles, climate analysis, weather station, solar geometry, psychrometry, natural ventilation, and passive design strategies. Lectures delve into field measurements, experimentation, and the design of a 45-liter ice box to optimize heat gains, incorporating concepts from building physics. The exploration of passive techniques like evaporative cooling and solar chimney is undertaken, along with practical building simulation using software such as Design-Builder for comprehensive understanding through Data interpretation and visualization. The portfolio encapsulates key semester topics, emphasizing a hands-on approach to passive building design.
