The Passive Comfort Laboratory provides a complete understanding of building physics concepts including Psychrometry, load calculations, heat transfer, moisture transfer, climate analysis, and solar geometry. Moreover, we gain expertise in determining human thermal comfort levels and measuring environmental factors. To demonstrate our grasp of the concepts of heat transfer, materials, and forms, we did a course project which was to build an enclosure with hot and cold compartments within to increase the temperature variation between them while exposed to outdoor conditions. With a focus on real-world applications, we expanded this information in the simulation module to examine heat gains and cooling loads from a building envelope.
