The studio project revolves around the complex task of planning and developing a suitable road alignment in diverse terrains, considering natural and built-environment influences. The comprehensive study involves an examination of maps and the scrutiny of various IRC codes. Numerous surveys were executed, focusing on the measurement and analysis of field data. The geometric design for both horizontal and vertical curves was conducted through multiple attempts. Additionally, the pavement design for the route was finalized. Alignments at a specific site underwent assessment through parametric analysis for comprehensive comparison. The project delves into the challenges and intricacies of road alignment planning, encompassing geospatial tools and various design aspects for a holistic approach.
