Sardar Vallabhai Patel Stadium

The Sardar Vallabhai Patel Stadium, a modern architectural marvel, and a premier cricket venue, underwent a comprehensive structural assessment and strengthening project. Through non-destructive testing and finite element modeling, vulnerabilities such as concrete deterioration, reinforcement corrosion, and crack formations were identified. Pushover analysis revealed the effects of deterioration and the potential benefits of strengthening interventions like CFRP wrapping. Time history analysis and the installation of tie rods at critical junctions were proposed for a comprehensive seismic evaluation and robust strengthening strategy. The project aimed to enhance the stadium's structural integrity, seismic resistance, and long-term sustainability, ensuring the safety of spectators and preserving its cultural and sporting heritage.
