This project focuses on the structural assessment and seismic strengthening of a traditional masonry Pol house located in Khadia, Ahmedabad. The structure, composed of lime mortar masonry and timber framing, was analyzed using DIANA FEA software. Visual inspection, nonlinear static (pushover), and time history analyses were performed to evaluate its behavior under seismic loads. Various strengthening techniques such as embedded steel bars, concrete bands, and timber lintels were simulated. The effectiveness of each intervention was studied, and the N2 method was used to assess seismic safety. The study aims to improve the structural resilience of heritage buildings through informed retrofitting.
