A structural and heritage assessment of the Chanchalbhai Tower, a 19th-century sandstone clock tower in Kapadvanj, Gujarat. Combining historical research, visual inspection, and advanced analysis—including NDT, pushover, eigenvalue, and time history methods—the study identifies critical weaknesses, especially in the arches and eroded masonry. Tools like DIANA FEA and photogrammetry-based CAD modeling were used to understand the tower’s behavior, revealing its vulnerability to seismic forces due to low-frequency global modes. It concludes with a conservation and retrofitting strategy focused on preserving historical integrity while enhancing structural resilience and seismic performance.
