This project focuses on the structural assessment and seismic strengthening of Sardar Patel Bhavan, a traditional brick masonry structure with a jack arch roof and timber truss, located in Ahmedabad. The building was analyzed using DIANA FEA software. Visual inspection, nonlinear static (pushover), time history, and settlement analyses were conducted to evaluate the structure’s behavior under seismic loads and observed settlement. Strengthening techniques such as masonry stitching with embedded steel bars and tie bars for arch openings were simulated. The effectiveness of these interventions was assessed to enhance the seismic performance and structural resilience of heritage building through informed retrofitting.
