Parametric Design & Digital Fabrication

Pavilion Plaza | Parametric Design & Digital Fabrication

Two projects based on the concept of 'parametric' are designed that sites on the South Lawn at CEPT University, Ahmedabad. The two iterations of the Pavilion Plaza are intended to form an extended space on the lawn with the existing tree as a key reference. The purpose of the pavilion plaza is to create a multi-purpose space which would also act as an extended library to the existing one, where people could sit and read under the semi-open pavilion plaza. The two projects take a slightly different shift in the exploration, the first project is established with multiple 2-Dimensional planes (Contours) interlocking with each other to form the roof, while the other project has a complete surface cover with openings (Voronoi) on it. The fabrication process opted for both projects differs in the way they have been designed.
