Visual Presentation for the DRP:
There is a huge need for housing in Indian cities but new construction cannot solve the housing crisis. However, there is a large percentage of housing infrastructure that already exists but it is either obsolete as a type, is in a dilapidated condition or is lying vacant.
This research aims to increase the affordable housing supply by creating a criteria to evaluate the possibility of repair, retrofit or upgrade on inadequate urban housing through a spatial lens, such that it can contribute to the urgent need for creation of habitable housing within the fabric of the city.
