A multi - disciplinary firm in Kolkata, West Bengal, Abin Design Studio (ADS) deals with a broad range and scale of projects. Highlighted here are two projects, among others, that I was given a chance to work on during the course of the internship.Food Kiosk at Bansberia - On the land that separates the Tribeni - Shibpur main road from the playground area, the Municipality asked for a building which would serve as a commercial place and as an amphitheatre to watch matches in the adjacent playground. The building thus emerges as a negotiation of these functions and becomes an entity that weaves around the elements of the site.
NMoQ seating competition - The National Museum of Qatar had offered a competition for seating proposals which would emerge as permanent seating sculptures around the museum. 4 features - from their cultural and physical contexts, which were predominant and native only to Qatar, were selected. Based on these, 2 design proposals were suggested.
