To Examine India's 15-Minute Cities

Cities worldwide are shifting towards sustainable, inclusive, and community-focused planning, epitomized by the 15-minute city concept. This envisions compact, accessible urban environments where essential services are within easy reach of resident's homes. The study investigates the feasibility of implementing the 15-minute city concept in five Indian cities through GIS analysis. It emphasizes the need for comprehensive strategies to enhance accessibility, promote sustainable mobility, and foster inclusive urban development. The research proposes a methodological framework tailored for small cities, aiming to analyze neighborhood-level accessibility while ensuring access to amenities beyond immediate vicinity. By integrating insights from this study, cities can develop holistic approaches to address urban challenges and pave the way for a vibrant, connected future.
