Vernacular Structures

Koti Banal

People's architectural language, with ethnic, regional, and local dialects, is known as vernacular architecture.' Buildings that are produced by the people, for the people, and where the owner is an active participant in the design and construction process, rather than just a customer, are considered vernacular architecture. The emergent form is the result of a long process of refining across generations to meet sociocultural and physical needs.
Koti Banal is a type of vernacular architecture that developed in Uttarakhand many years ago and is built by locals for locals, using local materials, techniques, and equipment. We researched the structure both architecturally and structurally in this course, and the house was built approximately 20-30 years ago and is still standing and can withstand earthquakes. DETAILED PORTFOLIO.
