The city of Chennai has experienced devastating floods in recent years, with the worst floods in over 100 years occurring in 2015. Several factors contribute to the high risk of flooding in Chennai, including its low-lying topography, rapid urbanization, and poor infrastructure. Climate change is also thought to be a contributing factor, with rising sea levels and more frequent and severe weather events increasing the risk of flooding in coastal cities like Chennai. This report talks about man-made disasters in the developing city.
