In rapidly growing Indian cities like Ahmedabad, urban local bodies face revenue challenges amid increasing infrastructure needs. To address this, Transferable Development Rights (TDR) emerge as innovative financing mechanisms. TDR allows the transfer of development rights, primarily through extra floor space, aiding planned city expansion and infrastructure provision. Ahmedabad notably issues TDR, particularly slum TDR, with developers enjoying up to 3 FSI. A study on Factors influencing demand of TDR in Ahmedabad aims to understand its impact on urban character, aiding in creating a market for TDRs.
