Indianizing Material in Contemporary Interiors

The study aims to inquire about material application criteria and Material as an element to generate a meaning which symbolises a collective memory of the individualised past. The way different materials react with one another in three-dimensional composition generates a character of uniqueness & a lasting sense of identity. The theme establishes a framework to derive factors that contribute to achieve an Indian identity. The material acts as an added dimensional element in space making, as it reinforces a narrative and symbolises an idea. The research aims to understand the designer’s intent in re-actualising the past and abstracting it in contemporary scenarios.
