Emergence of Gujarati Islamic Architectural Style in Ahmad Shah’s Mosque: Analytical study through the comparison of Bhadresvara Mosque Complex and Kumbharia Temple Complex
Islamic ritual buildings and Jain temples of Gujarat share multiple similarities that result in a peculiar blending of architectural styles in the Islamic ritual buildings. This research paper compares the cases of Bhadresvara Mosque Complex and Kumbharia Temple Complex using a set of parameters, finds the similarities between them and traces the steps that resulted in the formation of an eclectic Gujarati Islamic style, which can be seen in the mosque of Ahmad Shah, in Ahmedabad.
