 Pick three pieces of poetry from three different languages based on a theme of your choice. For example you could explore love or women's rights or patriotism or pain or Using the framework of poetry appreciation that we evolved in class and listed out in terms of theme, tone, poet's life and times, devices, meanings etc. present a comparative assignment highlighting the unique approach of each piece. This is a very detailed assignment and you shall be graded on the maturity of your argument and the complexity of the weave that you knit across the three pieces comparing them in various ways as suggested by the framework. Please note that the minimum word-limit of this assignment is 2000 words. You can choose from pieces discussed in class and if you bring in a piece that we haven't brought up here then please present the text of the poem to make the perusal of your assignment meaningful.
