Benefit Assessment of Implementing BIM on Construction

In the field of Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC), the Building Information Modeling (BIM) recently came in attracted great attention with increasing the use of information technology and with increasing productivity, performance, infrastructure value, quality, and sustainability. Basically, conventional methods of building are a step backward to correct task preparation and planning on-site, leading to inadequate control of the full operation. The purpose of this study is to identify the challenges in the current Implementation process and from that to understand BIM Adoption from an Indian perspective. Also, to understand different maturity models to evaluate project and organization levels. Our review gives critical factors of BIM implementation and concludes that if BIM is perfectly implemented in a planned way, then we can get most of the benefits like easiness to implementation, information sharing ability, reduction of construction work, and reduction of rework cost of the project. Research also investigates case study and use maturity model to evaluate project and basis of the standard reference’s dashboard has been developed to evaluate further projects with help of dashboard.
