History of Interior Design

A corner itself can decode the interior styling, the design language, the material palate and much more about a space. The objective of this course was to explore the concept of tectonics of corners and its significance in Architecture and Space making. The aim was to investigate the materiality and the construction processes of junctions to analyze how this knowledge can be applied to identify, decode and further create innovative and functional spaces. The study of the corners of Kochrab Ashram, Ahmedabad shows how corners can not only be a description of the assembly of tectonics in the space, but a complete insight to all interior aspects of the space.
